This year IMAO performed its first flights with an Ultra Light Savannah ST, for Lidar and photo acquisitions on the South West of France for OMEXOM (Vinci Energies Group). This first project combining ultralight and the powerlines field has been a great success. It bodes beautiful future acquisitions in this speciality. IMAO flew this summer 300 km sections of high voltage lines for OMEXOM, in different French regions like Limousin, Midi Pyrénées, Languedoc and Aquitaine. This Lidar acquisition reaches ultra high density about 50 pts/m2 and will be useful for the inventory of the infrastructure and its maintenance. This data collection appears as a very competitive alternative to the helicopter. Ultralight shows its potential in this type of corridor project flying at low speed like with the electrical network, can now capture roads, highways, railways, and more. www.imao-fr.com
