GeoConnexion Magazine has welcomed Eric van Rees as News Editor for its web and printed editions. Based in Granada, Spain, Eric will combine his new post with continued freelance writing on geospatial technology, programming and web development. Author of several books including ‘Mastering Geospatial Analysis with Python’, he was previously editor and editor-in-chief of GeoInformatics Magazine, as well editor of GIS Magazine and CAD Magazine, both published in Dutch, and also a contributing editor of GIS Magazine. Eric succeeds Alan Plumley who had been News editor at GeoConnexion for the past eight years but who, sadly, had to scale down his work recently due to ill health.
