Fugro Awarded Project To Deploy Roames Service In UK


Fugro has been contracted by SP Energy Networks (an Iberdrola company) to deploy the Roames service over 13,200 circuit kilometres of the utility companyâs overhead power line network in Scotland and Wales as an integral part of their Virtual World Asset Management innovation project. By implementing Roames on close to one third of its overhead distribution network, SP Energy Networks will work with Fugro to quantify the operational and business benefits of virtual world asset management solutions to UK distribution network operators. As part of this project, Fugro will deliver vegetation and conductor clearance services built upon a centimetre accurate 3D model of the real world environment, to assess and monitor the networkâs condition and performance.
