Esri UK’s Education team have been awarded a prestigious ‘Silver’, the top in its category in The Geographical Association Publishers’ Awards 2016. Esri’s ArcGIS Online free Public Account was recognised as a vital online resource, making a significant contribution to the teaching of geography in primary schools, secondary schools and colleges, and encouraging the development of new materials. The Award was presented at The Geographical Associations Annual Conference in Manchester. “The Award recognises how valuable ArcGIS Online is for teaching geography and that it is available to every school in the country to use” said Esri UK’s GIS for Schools Manager, Jason Sawle. “This is particularly relevant to schools in England where the new geography curriculum starts in September and teaching with GIS is a major focus.” The Esri UK GIS for Schools programme provides software, training and resources to help teachers get started with GIS. www.esriuk.com
