e-GEOS, an ASI (20%) / Telespazio (80%) company, has signed a contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) for the development of a solution capable of integrating and analysing large amounts of both satellite and non-satellite data, to help monitor the economic recovery after the COVID-19 outbreak, in particular in the port, logistics and freight transport sectors. The project, called “COVID-19 economic impact assessment from Space in Italian Ports and Logistic Centres - Enabling Industry Growth”, will be funded in the context of the permanent ESA call “EO Science for Society”, aimed at supporting solutions and services using Earth Observation data for the benefit of citizens. e-GEOS will lead a team composed of the start-up CherryData, spinoff of the Politecnico di Milano, and the company ExpertLAB, headquartered in Rome. www.e-geos.it
