Leamington Spa, UK, 18th February 2019 – Technology company, Yotta has won a major contract with 3C ICT, a shared IT service between Cambridge City Council, Huntingdonshire District Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council. Under the contract’s terms, Yotta is providing 3C ICT with a range of asset management software solutions and services that will help deliver waste management, street cleansing and green spaces management across the three councils.
Yotta’s priority is to deliver and implement its Mayrise asset management system for the pioneering shared waste service between Cambridge City and South Cambridgeshire District Council, which is responsible for waste management, and in the case of the latter council, for street cleansing too.
“We were impressed by the professionalism of the Yotta approach and by the breadth and depth of their technological capability,” says Trevor Nicoll, Head of Waste Resources “Waste, street cleansing, and grounds maintenance are all highly complex areas, with specialist needs.
“Yotta has an in-depth understanding of the challenges we face. Its asset management software matches our requirements today and provides the future-proofing to meet tomorrow’s needs. With the use of sensors and the Internet of Things becoming increasingly key to councils, the exciting connected asset management capability that Alloy delivers is likely to be increasingly fundamental to our work going forward.”
Yotta will step into the breach by providing its Mayrise Waste back-office management system, for the new shared waste service operation, together with the vehicle-mounted Mayrise in-cab waste management system for waste crews. Yotta plans to transition the shared waste service to Alloy over time. This in turn will allow it to provide the councils with a single view of their operations and the capability to manage and report on them.
Yotta will migrate all the other service elements covered by the deal directly to Alloy. These comprise: street cleansing for South Cambridgeshire; green spaces and street cleansing services for Cambridge City Council; and waste collection; green spaces and street cleansing for Huntingdonshire District Council.
Once rolled-out, the new Yotta implementation will provide the councils involved with an end-to-end integration capability from website to back-office to mobile. This will enable them to deal with residents’ service queries faster and provide them with information gleaned in real-time from the waste collection crews. The councils will also be able to use this data to make better strategic decisions about the services they offer in the future.
Steve White, Software Business Development Manager, Yotta, said: “3C ICT is a forward-looking organisation focused on delivering innovative technology, a key value shared by Yotta, that addresses the challenges faced by the district councils. By better managing areas like waste collection, street cleansing and green spaces will help them deliver an improved service to the local public so we’re delighted that they have chosen our next generation connected asset management software to help them achieve these key strategic goals.”
