Winners of Asian Utility Innovator’s Awards 2017 Announced

[Singapore, 1 June 2017]; The winners of the 2nd Annual Asian Utility Innovator’s Awards, 2017 were last week revealed at the 17th Asian Utility Week Expo, held at Impact Exhibition Centre in Bangkok,

Over 800 utility and technology provider experts were invited to the awards ceremony co-hosted by Trilliant.

An independent panel of judges judged each award, and the winners were presented with their awards by Andrew White the CEO of Trilliant. The awards, and winners were as follows:

Award 1: Best AMI or IoT Network Rollout Project

Winner: The TEPCO AMI Rollout by TEPCO & Landis+Gyr

Award 2: Best Digital Transformation Project or New Solution

Winner: Implementation of Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) to Monitor TNB Power Grids by TNB & Aerodyne Geospatial Sdn Bhd

Runners Up:

  1. Tuas Power Supply AMR Energy Monitoring Portal and Mobile App – Tuas Power Supply
  2. AMI Demonstrator - Singapore’s National Water Agency - PUB

Award 3: Best Customer Engagement Project

Winner: Kuryente Load or KLoad by MERALCO, Landis&Gyr and Redknee

Runners Up:

  1. The MERALCO Orange Tag Empowering Customers with Just One Look - Meralco
  2. Best Digital Practices For Better Customers Services In Rural Areas – Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company

Award 4: Best DSM or Energy Efficiency Project

Winner: Large-scale & innovative Demand Response by TEPCO Energy Partner & Energy Pool

Runners Up:

  1. KEPCO’s Isolated Self-Sufficient Microgrid at Gasado (Island) – KEPCO Research Institute
  2. Behavior Change Program for Residential Customers – TEPCO Energy Partner

Award 5: Best Smart Asian Utility Week Start Up

Winner: LO3

Runners Up:

The Asian Utility Innovator’s Awards are part of Asian Utility Week, an annual expo focused on supporting utility companies in the Asia Pacific region with digital transformation of their businesses to better satisfy their customers. This year 2500 visitors joined the show over two days, representing a growth of 10% from last year. This represents the growing importance in the digital modernisation of utility provision to the Asia region.
