Shingle Springs, California, January 16, 2017—Seafloor Systems, Incorporated, a provider of customized hydrographic solutions for the Hydrographic and Geophysical Survey community, will conduct dockside demonstrations of the fully autonomous EchoBoat-G2-ASV, featuring a Multibeam sonar system, integrated with INS and sound velocity probe. The portable, multi-payload vehicle features dual-DC motors for ease of control and redundancy, non-corrosive materials, an integral transducer well and multi-sensor payload capability. It allows the hydrographic surveyor to pre-plan survey waypoints, upload via RF to the vehicle, and have it automatically carry out the survey without user input. Hydrographic surveyors can reliably and effectively tackle multibeam surveys in shallow waters or difficult to reach areas when conventional survey boats are not an option.
The dockside demonstrations will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 4th and 5th, followed by a classroom review on Thursday, April 6th that will include a presentation of the autonomous multibeam survey data, taken from the previous days’ trials.
