Ordnance Survey select Solent Mind as new corporate charity

This year staff at OS have selected Solent Mind as the corporate charity, and fundraising is already underway.

Solent Mind is the leading mental health charity across Hampshire and are here to make sure anyone with a mental health problem has somewhere to turn for advice and support. They believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone.

Richard Barritt, Solent MindÂs CEO, comments: ÂWe are delighted that Ordnance Survey staff have selected Solent Mind as their charity of the year. Each year, we support over 12,000 people across Hampshire with mental health issues. Ordnance SurveyÂs support means we can reach more people, answer more calls, provide more information, advice and guidance, and carry on speaking out for everyone affected by mental health problems.Â

Here are some of the valuable services which Solent Mind offer:

• Wellbeing centres providing friendly and informal spaces where people can meet, share their experiences and support one another.
• Mayfield Nurseries social enterprise project which helps people to improve self-esteem, confidence and physical fitness through regular gardening.
• Community peer support team offering people the opportunity to share similar experiences and give and receive hope in tough times.
