Ordnance Survey appoints John Clarke as Non-Executive Director

Ordnance Survey (OS), Great Britain’s national mapping agency, has appointed John Clarke to its board as a Non-Executive Director.

John has extensive experience at the boardroom level, and in the design, build and delivery of advanced state of the art technology in several industries. He is the CEO of an Oxford-based AI company, a Non-Executive of a Med Tech company, Brain-in-Hand, as well as a Non-Executive member of the Digital Advisory Committee within the Department of Work and Pensions.

John has been a Partner at EY, Senior Vice President and Global CIO at Nokia, Chief Technology Officer at Tesco, and is a recognised thought leader in the use of next-generation technologies.

John added: “I am excited about the opportunities that the use of future technologies, such as AI and Machine Learning, can bring to OS in helping it grow.”

Ordnance Survey’s Chairman, Kieran Murphy, said: “John has an outstanding career history leading technology projects across a number of blue-chip organisations. His experience, and expertise, in driving technological change will be immensely valuable in ensuring that OS remains at the forefront of the geospatial industry.”
