Ocean Business 2021, taking place from 12-14 October at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, UK, will once again bring the ocean technology community together with an exhibition of 300 companies from around the world.
The show will be packed with live product demonstrations, giving visitors the opportunity to see equipment in action and ‘test drive’ products before they purchase.
As Ocean Business is located at the National Oceanography Centre – one of the world’s leading science and technology institutes – the facilities are first class. Demonstrations will take place on vessels, in the dockside waters, in a purpose-built test tank and seminar rooms. Visitors will also have the chance to learn about the latest ocean technology in a series of training sessions presented by global experts.
Some highlights of the programme this year include demos of cutting-edge autonomous surface vehicles (ASVs) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), as well as high-tech visualisation and positioning systems. L3Harris will run several sessions displaying their ASVs’ capabilities for hydrography applications in a port environment.
James Cowles of L3Harris comments: “Ocean Business provides the ideal opportunity for us at L3Harris to showcase our products in person and demonstrate the latest technology to ensure customer confidence during real-world operations.”
Maritime Robotics will demo how their unmanned surface vehicle works as a bathymetry survey solution for those difficult to access areas. GeoAcoustics will join Unmanned Survey Solutions to showcase their GeoPulse Compact sub-bottom profiler on the Inception MK II USV.
Some of the biggest names in instrumentation are set to demonstrate their latest devices. Sonardyne will show how their buyers can get more value out of instruments with their acoustic devices, Syrinx and SPRINT-Nav; Valeport will showcase its new SWiFT CTD multi-parameter profiler, which is a fast-profiling CTD with Bluetooth; and Teledyne Marine will give visitors the latest update on their deep ocean survey vehicle – Teledyne Gavia's SeaRaptor AUV.
Cheri Arvonio, Event Director for Ocean Business says: “We’re delighted that so many exhibitors are taking up the unique opportunity of showcasing their products at Ocean Business. After 18 months of the industry not being able to connect with their buyers we are confident and excited that OB provides the perfect platform for everyone to get back to business.”
All training and demonstrations are free to attend and visitors can book sessions with the exhibitors on their stand when they arrive.
