Gaithersburg, MD - MDA Information Systems LLC (MDA), a provider of geospatial and advanced information solutions to government and commercial customers, announced that it was named a finalist in the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s (NGA) Disparate Data Challenge. MDA’s submission, Multi-source Analyst Ready Information (MARI™), is a unique service developed to enhance an analyst’s ability to search and retrieve a multitude of disparate data sources. MARI™ provides the user with persistent correlations and trends among various data sources and provides alerts and observations to the subscriber for further analysis.
The MARI™ architecture is designed to seamlessly sift and pull together billions of data points from social media, imagery, documents, news media, video, photos, and environmental indicators to create a robust information product for the analyst. The open source-derived data is then delivered directly to the subscriber with geospatial content for use in multiple applications.
MDA’s offering allows users the ability to rapidly implement MARI™ at a lower cost than traditional government acquisitions while delivering superior results. Don Schaefer, President of MDA, commented “We are excited that NGA recognized our innovative big data solutions by being selected as a Disparate Data Challenge Stage One Prize winner. MDA has a long tradition of providing essential information to decision makers and our MARI™ solution is another way we are contributing to our customer’s success.”
In the multistage challenge, companies were asked to demonstrate capabilities that enable access to wildly disparate data so that it is available for search, business metrics and analytics. Stage Two involves a live demonstration of the solution. Stage Two winners will advance to compete for a potential prototype project.
