Tracking technology has been fitted to an additional 150 vans in recent months that are used to provide final-mile services on behalf of online retailers and home delivery partners. This will enable JMHC Logistics to increase vehicle security, support driver welfare and raise operational standards during a strong period of growth, which has seen company’s fleet reach more than 550 vans.
“We are committed to operating to a high standard – in line with the Van Excellence Code – so we need an advanced vehicle tracking system that improves fleet safety, efficiency and compliance,” explains Rebecca Hall, Director of JMHC Logistics. “We have worked closely with Ctrack to develop a bespoke solution, incorporating vehicle immobilisation, so we are best-placed to protect our drivers, assets and reputation. In fact, on one occasion we were able to respond within minutes to reach and assist a driver who had been assaulted as well as safely recover the tracked van.”
JMHC Logistics originally selected Ctrack Online four years ago following a review of the vehicle tracking marketplace. A key requirement of the solution was advanced security features to tackle the heightened threat of vehicle theft faced by last-mile delivery operations. As a result, Ctrack developed unique immobilisation to prevent unauthorised vehicle movements and attempted hijackings during delivery rounds.
Ctrack Online provides a wide range of reports, enabling JMHC Logistics to gain insight into driver behaviour, speeding, working hours and fuel impact. The system is used centrally from the company’s head office in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire, as well as by onsite supervisors at 23 delivery stations across the UK. This is providing added visibility and control of mobile resources that is helping JMHC Logistics operate safely, securely and responsibly, in the most economical way.
“We have found Ctrack Online to be the best telematics systems on the market, which is providing us with multiple business and operational benefits. The company is great to work with and their partnership approach means that they are always on hand to ensure the technology is meeting our exact fleet requirements,” adds Hall.
Steve Thomas, Managing Director of Ctrack UK by Inseego commented: “We are partner of choice for a wide range of private and public sector customers. This is based on our ability to help these organisations overcome some of the most common and difficult challenges facing the fleet sector. As a key technology partner, we are working with JMHC Logistics to support their ongoing business success now and in the future.”
