Oxford Technical Solutions wins 2019 Queen’s Award for Enterprise

Bicester, Oxfordshire: Oxford Technical Solutions, the Oxfordshire-based manufacturer of high-precision satellite-aided inertial navigation systems, is delighted to announce that it has won the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise, International Trade, 2019.

OxTS received the award in recognition of its outstanding export success. OxTS’s position-measuring inertial navigation systems have become the industry standard for automotive testing and are used by many major car manufacturers and regulatory bodies around the globe for the development and testing of advanced safety systems and autonomous vehicles. Away from the automotive world, OxTS’s products are increasingly used in air, sea and land-based surveying applications.

The company employs around 100 staff and contractors and its products are sold and supported globally through a network of representatives in 25 countries. From its base in north Oxfordshire, OxTS is ideally placed to access a highly skilled workforce across a range of specialisms, while local manufacturers are used to supply components and assemblies that go into its world-renowned products.

Managing director Chris Hocking said: “Winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise is a great achievement for us. We pride ourselves on producing high-technology products that are trusted by automotive manufacturers around the world.

“From a commercial point of view this is a wonderful accolade, but ultimately the business is successful because of the efforts of the people who work here. We have worked very hard and to a high standard to create an excellent product, and that has been recognised by this award. I would like to thank everybody, from the founders of the business through to the great team that works here now, and all those who have supported us along the way.”

The award will be presented by one of The Queen’s representatives at OxTS’s offices in Middleton Stoney, Oxfordshire, following a Royal reception at Buckingham Palace.
