Hexagon's Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division, a global provider of digital reality solutions, has unveiled new releases of its Intergraph Smart 3D, CADWorx and CAESAR II software.
These three solutions help industrial actors leverage 3D and smart reality to design, build and operate more profitable, safe, and sustainable industrial facilities.
Developed in close collaboration with Hexagon’s clients, these new versions emphasise ease of use and integration with existing work processes while addressing new needs.
Smart 3D 13.1 release introduces new UI and 3D modelling features
Smart 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software assists engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies in creating, modifying, analysing or optimising designs for their projects. Its Project / As-built capabilities break through barriers imposed by traditional technologies and enable a truly iterative design environment.
The latest Smart 3D 13.1 release introduces a new user interface, as well as improved brownfield modelling features, new tools to ensure data integrity when bringing in legacy data and easier troubleshooting for administrators. In addition, this new release offers functionality improvements in the areas of piping, structural, space management, and electrical.
This new version follows Hexagon’s recent acquisition of iConstruct Pty Ltd, a provider of award-winning Building Information Modelling (BIM) software used in commercial, infrastructure, and industrial construction.
Sean Locke, European VP of Sales – Digital Projects at Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division, said: “Our customers are already excited about Smart 3D’s new interface, which gives them access to richer content and improved work processes.
“After the acquisition of iConstruct, we are proud to raise the bar once again with industry-leading construction solutions designed to deliver mission-critical project requirements for our clients.”
CADWorx V22 release
Since its introduction in August 2022, CADWorx has revolutionised the plant design industry with its ease of use, flexibility, interconnectivity and scalability. Its new interface and features make it the most comprehensive Plant Design software suite on the market.
Today, more than 90% of the leading plant engineering companies and owner operators worldwide trust this solution to deliver accurate and reliable project results.
CADWorx is an integrated and complete suite that streamlines the plant design and engineering process. It supports intelligent plant design modelling, process schematics, and automatic production of plant design deliverables.
With this new release, Hexagon aims to provide even greater value to its customer base. It features a new and intuitive interface that follows natural project progression, advanced search options and filtering in spec view, line view, and setup dialog, streamlined line numbering into a single dialog, options to model, export, and report on circular base plates in CADWorx Structure. There is also the possibility to measure components while 3D cutting plane and volume clipping options are enabled.
Peter van der Weijde, Vice President of Sales at Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division, said: “When it comes to plant design, plant engineering companies and owner-operators need solutions that adapt to their processes and design needs.
“With this new release, the CADWorx suite stays true to its DNA by providing them with integrated software that is scalable, highly customizable and, most importantly, easy to use. For projects that require accuracy and need to adhere to timing and budget constraints, CADWorx provides unparalleled value.”
CAESAR II release 13
Piping engineers rely on accurate stress analysis to build, assess, and report on piping systems to ensure plant safety throughout its operation. To achieve this, efficient solutions adhering to the latest code guidelines and standards must be used.
Released in September, this new version of CAESAR II is the tool of choice to ensure safer systems while minimising the potential for failures. It provides enhanced functionality with the latest piping code additions to help further reduce costs throughout a plant's life cycle, pipe stress analysis solution that considers weight, pressure, thermal, seismic and other static and dynamic conditions.
Steven Foster, executive product owner for CAESAR II at Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division, said: “Engineers depend on accuracy, reliability, and validity of engineering software to confidently meet their pipe stress and flexibility analysis needs and standards.
“With this new version, they can produce more accurate results in their stress analyses. It uses the ASME B31J code standard that is required by the 2020 editions of ASME B31 piping codes and can be used with any metallic piping code for improved flexibility and stress analysis.
Sondre Luca Helgesen, CEO of Stressman Engineering, added: “Our Stressman Engineering engineers are happy with this new version of CAESAR II that helps them produce more accurate results in their stress analyses. This latest version uses the ASME B31J code standard required by the 2020 editions of ASME B31 piping codes.
“It can be used with any metallic piping code for improved flexibility and stress analysis. We are confident that its accuracy, reliability, and validity will help us meet our pipe stress and analysis needs for our customers.”
