GSSI, the world’s leading manufacturer of ground penetrating radar (GPR) equipment, announces it will be highlighting its new UtilityScan® GPR System and Profiler™ EMP-400 Conductivity Meter at American Geophysical Union (AGU) 2017 Fall Meeting, which will be held December 11-15, 2017, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Stop by Booth #1639 to see the affordable new addition to the UtilityScan product line – the industry standard GPR system for efficiently identifying and marking the location and depth of subsurface utilities. Also on display at the booth will be the Profiler™ EMP-400 Conductivity Meter, a powerful electromagnetic (EM) induction tool that enables reliable and accurate examination of soil conditions and subsurface targets on both small and large scale sites.
The new UtilityScan system on display features innovative technology never before available in the marketplace. The compact size makes it extremely portable and easy to maneuver in tight survey areas. It features a robust new wireless antenna that can handle required data rates and is ruggedly built to withstand challenging field conditions.
The UtilityScan’s electrical design uses GSSI’s patented HyperStacking technology, which increases depth penetration in challenging soils while also providing high near surface data resolution. The unit also has a backup Ethernet connection if Wi-Fi is not desired or allowed on a particular jobsite or facility. Additionally, the UtilityScan can be equipped with the new LineTrac™ accessory, which helps locate specific power sources situated underground, including AC power and induced RF energy present in conduits.
Visitors to the booth can also see the Profiler EMP-400 multi-frequency EM conductivity meter, a great tool for use in geological investigation, site assessment, ground water investigation, and other environmental assessment applications. Featuring a lightweight, environmentally sealed EM instrument and handheld interface with integrated GPS, GSSI’s Profiler offers users premium mobility and ease of transport. Advanced software features provide several options for real time data viewing, which enhances survey efficiency.
The Profiler EMP-400 is commonly used as a quick reconnaissance level survey tool in combination with GSSI’s UtilityScan on large survey sites. After the Profiler narrows down areas of interest, the UtilityScan GPR system can be employed to concentrate on anomalies.
