PORTLAND, Ore., 26 June 2019 – Extensis® will demonstrate its full suite of digital asset and imagery management solutions – which have been geospatially optimized with legacy LizardTech products and technology – at the 2019 Esri User Conference. In addition, Extensis will showcase the integration of its industry leading MrSID data compression technology into the ArcGIS environment.
LizardTech and Extensis united under the Extensis brand in October 2018, combining the Digital Asset Management (DAM) capabilities of Portfolio with the geospatial image handling and compression expertise of LizardTech. These data management solutions enable clients to easily organize, access, and share geospatial datasets along with associated documents.
“Every organization with large geospatial data sets faces the same challenge – implementing a cost-effective means of storing, archiving, querying and accessing their digital data,” said Jeff Young, Extensis Global Business Development. “The Portfolio system pioneered incorporation of MrSID. Portfolio stands alone as the first integrated DAM solution for managing and sharing virtually any type of digital data including MrSID files, video, audio, documents, photographs, images and point clouds.”
MrSID data compression provides dramatic file size reduction of satellite/aerial/UAV imagery and LiDAR point clouds while preserving data quality, resulting in easily shareable data both across the enterprise and to remote teams.
“We are pleased that Esri has recently adopted MrSID support in its ArcGIS platform,” said Young. “This means Esri users will soon be able to read compressed MrSID data files in many ArcGIS products supporting workflows for characterizing baseline landscapes; detecting long and short-term changes over time; and extracting various features under investigation.”
In its growing product line, Extensis has incorporated all legacy LizardTech software packages including GeoExpress and Express Server which have been relied upon by Esri users for years to fully access and exploit the value of their geospatial data sets. These products are utilized extensively in applications related to state and local governments, natural resource management, national defense & intelligence, environmental monitoring, infrastructure development, land records archiving, AEC, and location-based services.
Extensis will showcase Portfolio, its full line of legacy LizardTech products, and MrSID support within ArcGIS in booth 2203 at this year’s Esri User Conference being held July 8-12, 2019, in San Diego, California.
“Extensis solutions maximize the value of GIS and other data sets by making them more accessible to end users,” said Young.
