RIEGL announced that Eagle Mapping, a geospatial data provider, has recently acquired the RIEGL VQ-780 II-S airborne laser scanner from RIEGL Canada.
This purchase marks a significant milestone as it is the 10th RIEGL sensor acquired by Eagle Mapping, underscoring the strength and longevity of the partnership between the two companies.
"As Eagle Mapping celebrates 40 years in business, we are excited to mark this milestone with the acquisition of our 10th LiDAR sensor from RIEGL." said James Hume, President of Eagle Mapping. “Our partnership with RIEGL has been integral to our success, dating back to our first laser sensor purchase with the VQ-480. Over the last 15 years, we have continued to trust RIEGL's cutting-edge technology.”
Eagle Mapping's decision to invest in their second RIEGL VQ-780 II-S highlights their continued trust and commitment in RIEGL's technology. This advanced system will support Eagle Mapping in continuing to provide high-quality geospatial data and services to their clients. The addition of the RIEGL VQ-780 II-S to Eagle Mapping's fleet will further enhance their ability to meet the evolving needs of their clients, enabling them to undertake more complex and large-scale projects with greater efficiency.
“The purchase of the RIEGL VQ-780 II-S rounds out our current four-sensor aerial lineup, now featuring two RIEGL VQ-1560 II-S and two RIEGL VQ-780 II-S.” said James Hume, President of Eagle Mapping. “This enhanced configuration allows us to further expand our capabilities, delivering the highest quality geospatial data with unmatched precision and efficiency. Our longstanding partnership with RIEGL continues to drive innovation and solidify Eagle Mapping's position as a leader in the aerial mapping and geospatial industry."
The RIEGL VQ-780 II-S is a high-performance, rugged, lightweight, and compact airborne mapping sensor. This versatile system is designed for efficient data acquisition at low, mid, and high altitudes, covering a variety of airborne laser scanning applications from high-density to wide-area mapping. With a high pulse repetition rate of up to 2 MHz and the ability to achieve up to 1.33 million measurements per second on the ground, the RIEGL VQ-780 II-S offers unparalleled data acquisition efficiency and accuracy. The system also features excellent multiple target detection capability, atmospheric clutter suppression, and seamless integration with other RIEGL airborne systems and software packages.
"It has been an absolute pleasure to observe the continued growth of Eagle Mapping in Canada, a major provider of airborne laser scanning services,” said Michael Sitar, Managing Director for RIEGL Canada. “Eagle Mapping has demonstrated such a diversity of capability, whether flying jungle surveys in Central America documenting lost civilizations, or flying rugged mountainous areas in Alaska and British Colombia, or performing low-altitude corridor surveys, their application flexibility is clearly evident and supported by their significant investment in numerous RIEGL airborne laser scanning system models. We look forward to supporting their continued growth.”
RIEGL is thrilled to celebrate this milestone with Eagle Mapping. The acquisition of the RIEGL VQ-780 II-S is a testament to the strong collaboration and mutual success between the two companies. This long-standing partnership reflects RIEGL's commitment to delivering innovative solutions that drive success in the geospatial industry.
