Colin Bartholomew releases World MidScales Explorer version 16.1

This release represents a major improvement on previous versions, with the product now being delivered as one seamless dataset instead of in three separate parts. In addition, Pakistan and Indonesia have also been added to the growing list of countries covered.

World MidScales Explorer is a continuously maintained dataset with hundreds of changes made each year. In line with Collins Bartholomew’s focus on authoritative content, the most noteworthy changes include improved 1st-order boundary alignments in Libya and amendments to 2nd-order administrative boundaries in Italy. Updates to 1st-order administrative region names in France, which came into effect on 30th September 2016, have also been made. Other notable changes include updates to names in Ukraine due to de-communization laws and general updates to names in Cyprus, Georgia, and Hong Kong.

Countries most likely to be added next are Burkina Faso, Papua New Guinea, Algeria and Tunisia. A significant update to the transportation network in Europe is also scheduled to take place.
