Arithmetica reveals 360 imaging and 3D laser modeling tech at Forensics Europe

By [email protected] - 15th April 2016 - 12:12

Rapid image and data capture technology is set to revolutionise forensic work

Arithmetica, the company behind the SphereVision 360 degree video recording systems and Pointfuse laser scan 3D modeling software, will showcase its solutions at Forensics Europe Expo at Olympia, 19-20 April 2016. The portable SphereVision product suite includes high definition cameras for recording 360 degree images and video, as well as software designed to view, share and integrate immersive content. Pointfuse V2, on show for the first time following its launch in the US a week ago, offers a fast, precise and flexible way of converting the vast point cloud datasets generated by laser scanners which are increasingly being used within the forensics sector.

“Forensic science is the collection, preservation and analysis of scientific evidence,” commented Mark Senior, Business Development Manager at Arithmetica. “This progression of capture, process and use is at the heart of the Arithmetica product range. With our SphereVision recording and playback systems, a complex crime scene can be recorded in a matter of minutes and the data stored, integrated with other evidence, and presented to a court room or other audience.

“We are also excited to be showcasing the newly launched Pointfuse V2 – the first time in Europe since its launch! Laser scanners are being used more and more in law enforcement and forensics, and Pointfuse V2 gives users the ability to generate 3D geometry automatically and in a matter of minutes, regardless of the source of the point cloud.”

Forensics Europe Expo 2016 is Europe’s only dedicated Forensics Exhibition and Conference. Returning to Olympia, London on the 19-20 April, the event will showcase the latest forensic equipment and services. From crime scene investigations and court room evidence to lab equipment and digital forensic software, Forensics Europe Expo will showcase every aspect of the forensics industry. The exhibition is free to attend, providing industry professionals and key decision makers with a meeting space to network and source cost effective solutions.

In addition to the SphereVision recording system, Arithmetica will also preview a suite of SphereVision software designed to view, share and integrate 360 degree imagery and video trails. SphereVision Project Builder allows for the integration of maps, plans and layouts with captured footage. Other types of content rich media, such as photographs, documents, video and audio streams, can also be linked to build a fully interactive and immersive experience.
