Redlands, California—July 10, 2017—Esri, the global leader in spatial analytics, today announced that DigitalGlobe, the global leader in Earth imagery and information about our changing planet, has selected Esri’s ArcGIS 10.5 Enterprise architecture to deliver a new subscription product offering, Imagery+Analytics, that enables organizations to subscribe to high-resolution imagery and analytics directly within their Esri environment and tools. Imagery+Analytics is available to customers in North America starting today.
The Imagery+Analytics subscription natively leverages Esri’s ArcGIS Image Server to let customers easily search, access, and analyze vast amounts of DigitalGlobe high-resolution imagery to find the data that suits their needs and then access it directly as a dynamic web layers within their enterprise for viewing or analysis.
“With the Imagery+Analytics subscription, searching, accessing, and analyzing the extensive DigitalGlobe imagery archive is now a seamless experience,” said John-Isaac Clark, Head of Product for Platform at DigitalGlobe. “By integrating DigitalGlobe’s GBDX Platform with the new ArcGIS 10.5 Enterprise Architecture, DigitalGlobe is able to deliver new subscription products to the Esri’s ecosystem that greatly enhance the user experience while enabling users to perform large-scale analytics under a subscription service.”
Once an area of interest is identified using the Imagery+Analytics application, Image Server quickly displays the browse-level imagery and metadata so customers can easily add the imagery to their subscription. The multispectral and temporal imagery then become accessible as dynamic image services running in the cloud, for both viewing and analysis within the ArcGIS applications. Users also have access to a wide range of cloud-based analyses using ArcGIS raster analytics as well as DigitalGlobe’s GBDX Platform, which includes analysis capabilities powered by Harris Geospatial’s ENVI suite and deep learning-powered capabilities like those offered by CrowdAI and other ecosystem partners.
“CrowdAI is excited to be a deep learning algorithm provider for the DigitalGlobe Imagery+Analytics capability,” said Devaki Raj, CEO of CrowdAI. “CrowdAI does cutting edge work using deep learning to detect roads and other features on satellite imagery. With an Imagery+Analytics subscription, Esri’s users will be able to access CrowdAI’s object detection on the highest quality satellite imagery. The integration of ArcGIS 10.5 Enterprise and DigitalGlobe GBDX platform allows us to scale our deep learning capabilities across DigitalGlobe’s vast repository of data and to Esri’s users within tools they use every day. We see tremendous potential in putting answers in the hands of geographic information system (GIS) professionals seeking insight from satellite imagery through this offering.”
As an Esri partner, DigitalGlobe leveraged the Business Partner Advantage Program (BPAP) to readily configure and deploy several different solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner. These business solutions are being implemented on-premises and within the cloud.
