The Association for Geographic Information (AGI), the UK membership organisation for companies and individuals working in the geospatial sector, has welcomed the Satellite Applications Catapult as an Associate Member.
Part of the UK Catapult Network, the Satellite Applications Catapult is one of ten world leading technology and innovation centres established by Innovate UK. The Satellite Applications Catapult is at the heart of the satellite services revolution, driving take-up of space technology and applications by connecting industry and academia to propel research and fuel its conversion to market ready solutions.
The AGI is an independent and impartial organisation representing the UK geospatial sector. Working with members and the wider community, the AGI successfully influences government policy, delivers the highest quality of education and provides a lead for best practice across the industry. Established in 1990, members of the AGI enjoy unrivalled networking opportunities, a framework to learn new skills and the support to progress professional development.
“Our Catapult’s aim is to support UK industry by accelerating the growth of satellite applications and to contribute to capturing a 10% share of the global space market by 2030,” commented Liz Scott, Geospatial Solutions Architect at the Satellite Applications Catapult. “Through membership of the AGI we can support this goal by more purposefully connecting the wider geospatial sector with the world of earth observation. We look forward to engaging with organisations and individuals that are unfamiliar with or curious to explore the insights that can be revealed from space.”
