5th Annual International Congress and Exhibition “Hydropower Central Asia and Caspian 2021

We are excited to announce that the heads of the key investment projects from the Central and Caspian Asia have confirmed their participation in the 5th International Congress and Exhibition “Hydropower Central Asia and Caspian” to be held on 17 and 18 February 2021 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The event is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Strategic event partner – Uzbekgidroenergo.

Among the investment projects to be featured at the Congress:

Samarkand HPP Cascade

Bakhtier Pirmuzamedov, Cascade Director

The Cascade is a complex of 10 operating and several planned hydropower plants which are located on the Zeravshan river, Dargom irrigation canal in the Samarkand region.

Chirchik-Bozsui HPP Cascade

Alisher Alimov, Director, Urta-Chirchik HPP Cascade

Kobilzhon Primkulov, Director, Nizhne-Bozsui HPP Cascade

This is a hydroelectric system comprising 19 hydropower plants located on the Chirchik river and its tributaries Pskem and Chatkal in Uzbekistan. To date, the projects under construction include: Pskem HPP (project cost exceeds 800 million US dollars), Nizhnechatkal HPP (180 million US dollars), and Mullalak HPP.

Farkhad HPP

Khudoiberdi Ergashev, HPP Director

Project development with completion planned in 2021 will enable annual power generation growth by 84 million kWh. Works will be conducted at 4 hydroelectric units with HPP power generation growth from 114 to 127 MW. The main equipment for HPP modernisation is manufactured by St. Petersburg’s power engineering companies which are part of Power Machines Company – LMZ and Electrosila.

Rogun HPP

The project implies construction of a hydroelectric plant on the river Vakhsh. The HPP is part of the Vakhsh Cascade, it is its upper development. The HPP dam with a height of 335 meters with be the highest in the world.

Sebzor HPP

Amrikhon Rakhimov, Executive for Director General, Pamir Energy Company

SHPP Sebzor with a capacity of 10 MW is planned for construction on the river Shakhdara in Roshtkal district of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region. It is planned that the plant would produce about 60 million kWh of power annually. In June 2019, the European Union has allocated 20 million euros for construction of Sebzor SHPP.
