The two-day event, organised by Terrapinn and sponsored by Airbus, featured a paid VIP Conference at which delegates explored the current and future impact of UAVs in various commercial sectors and heard in-depth technical presentations on the most significant new UAV technologies. Also under discussion were issues relating to regulation, a timely topic given the UK government’s drone code issued last year¹ and the requirement, announced earlier this year, for users of drones weighing 250 grams and over to register and sit safety awareness tests².

Alongside the conference was an exhibition supported by 90+ commercial, public sector and academic organisations; a flying zone with demonstrations mounted by senseFly, Multirotor and Yuneec; a start-up zone, and more than 30 free-to-attend daily seminars hosted in theatres dedicated to mapping and GIS, emergency services, and UAV innovation respectively.
